    Libeskind’s pretentious “Spirit House Chair” hardly changed the world. The only thing it is likely to generate is back problems. It is a joke.

    The only thing that is a joke is that you think that a chair’s design should be solely about comfort. The mere fact that you’re talking about it means that it has generated controversy, which is what all good design does.

    Harrison: I don’t really understand why you think all good design is aimed at generating controversy? Solving problems is the general idea, surely, which seems completely opposed to generating controversy. Maybe if the problem is the lack of controversy over a specific political or social issue, then I would understand, but the aim of designing a good chair cannot be to cause controversy?
